*** I really recommend to watch this video with a quality of at least 480p (or higher) for stereo sound! ***

This track was inspired by some really fantastic funk songs uploaded by another user here on Youtube (310LAFUNK).

Equipment used:

- FL Studio 9.1 (demo version)
- KRM61 synthesizer plug-in (Korg Poly-61 emulation)
Preset patch: "Saw Bass" (MG Depth parameter edited down to zero)
- TAL CHORUS-60 (on KRM-61, mode 1 and 2 activated at the same time)
- T.C. Electronic M30 studio reverb (on hand clap, edited preset: "Airy Space Solo Instrument")
- FL Studio compressor (on bass drum and snare drum)
- Wavosaur 1.0.5 (for normalizing)

The drums are samples from the legendary LinnDrum drum machine (from 1982, used by a lot of famous artists like Prince or Jan Hammer).

The pics from the Korg Poly-61 and the LinnDrum in this video are from the internet. No copyright violation was intended. All rights belong to the owners.

  • Was this made with synthedit? I can just tell.

  • @DonnieDirtbox I'm pretty sure it was. The sliders and buttons look very much like synthedit.

  • Nice vintage sound!

  • @AnalogAudio1 Yeah...the market really needs a more sophisticated emulation for that matter. Most freeware plug-ins only recreate the main parts of the sound structure...but it's another thing to recreate all the little sound effects of the original circuitry. The KRM61 seems to be the only available emulation of the Poly-61 on the internet so far. Maybe Korg should do a "Legacy" emulation of this one. I've seen a lot of your videos by the way (including the Poly-61 demo). Great stuff!

  • if you just use the stock modules and cross your fingers, it probably won't magically acquire the attributes of the gear youre trying to emulate. it requires the actual gear, scopes, analysis and math, also time energy and passion to make a good sounding emulation.

  • @sauermusicDE I really would like a poly 61 emulation, it's timbre would be nice to have. I'm not saying all synth edit modules are bad but alot of them use a stock filter, which kinda means that all of them sound the same.

  • Thats really cool! I 've owned a Poly 61 for years, I bought it at a Pawn shop and it really is a beast its just the crappy digital wannabe style is ERRRRR!!! lol But imma download that, thanks

  • @rformidable yes, that's the site, thanks!

    i wish i didn't run windows...

  • @rformidable You are talking about "Bristol" Synth Emulations for Linux. The dedicated internet page is still on. The DW8000 was not included (but at least MS20, Polysix, Mono/Poly and Poly 800).

  • @sauermusicDE a few years ago, seemed there was a vst site that had emulations of all sorts of great analog synths, but it was for linux, and i don't think they actually had gui's...just coding..i can't find that site anymore..

i think the dw8000 was included in it, as was a prophet 5, ob-xa, jupiter 8, jx-3p etc..(all the good synths)...

the closest i've come to emulating a dw8000 is using a superwave p8, but its still not the same :(

  • @rformidable Yes...a DW6000/8000-emulation is indeed still missing on the market.

  • @sauermusicDE i wish they'd do a dw8000 emulation...
