Regarding GPS function. I attempted to utilize my GPS function on my iPhone 3GS (also mounted on yoke) with negative results. What was I doing different than you. Please Advise - Thanks.

How high have you been flying? For me, all iPhone GPS functions stop working above 1000 AGL.

do you know if they make an app that would give ya like attitude, alt, heading, vsi, ext like what you can find on some of the garmin hand helds?

The developer of this one is constantly improving it and one of the planned features is to show all that info you mention (except attitude, I don't think you can do that accurately with the iPhone). I can't tell you though, when those features will be available.

By the way, if you are east-bound, shouldn't you be using odd alititudes +500' in VFR? If you are at 6,500' you are breaking regulations, no?

Flying westbound, I'm at 6,500. Flying eastbound, I'm at 7,500. There are two parts in the clip :-)
