  • scratch that, I figured it out, maybe a different way but it worked, I made a new sketch, converted entities off the original split onto the new sketch, then offsetted the entities 10mm, then projected the new sketch into a split onto the label surface, then deleted face off the excess I didnt need. Then I proceeded to create the loft boundary between the label surface and the bottle surface

    If you go to part 2 of this video (about the half way point), the trimming of the label area is covered in more detail. I just offset the edge of the tear-drop opening inward by 5mm and used that to trim away the excess outer area of the the recessed boundary surface. I could have just as easily offset the edge from the original layout sketch as well.

  • great tutorial, I wanted to know if you can clarify the step you took between the label offest boundary surface, when you trimmed back to get the gap between the two surfaces to create the boundary surface. Did you offset the orginal sketch to get the gap? please clarify
