  • About 10 people listened to this. The Ed Schultz Show has almost the lowest rating in talk radio. As all liberal radio talk show, even liberals don't listen. After funders get tired of propping it up, it will go bankrupt. Rinse and repeat.

  • So many lies, so little time.

About 10 people listen to this - More people listen to Ed Schultz per capita (total audience divided by total stations) then listen to Hannity. Pretty much neck in neck with Rush.

Lowest Rating in Radio - Ed Schultz and Thom Hartmann are pretty much tied for audience side, making their shows 10th or 11th over all.

Ed Schultz doesn't have funders, just radio sponsors same as Rush.

  • @17R3W "per capita".....LOL!

I suppose a fire & brimstone evangelist radio show, deep in the mountains, with all 10 "Deliverance" residents listening daily, exemplifies the "per capita" you are referring to. What a joke!

Even Schultz himself whines about his ratings and thinks the government should force people to listen to Leftist talk radio.

Schultz is one of the best in Leftist talk radio, but that's like saying Schultz is the smartest guy in the special ed room

  • Per Capita was probably the wrong term.

    What I mean is;

Take the number of listeners of Ed Schultz (3.25M) and divide it by the number of stations (~70) and you get an average 46,429 listeners per station.

Do the same for Rush and Hannity (20M & 16M) / ~500 each, you get 40K and 32K respectively.

Also, Rush is on OVER 500 stations so his number is a little lower then 40K. And Ed is on weaker stations also. Still Ed pulls more listeners per station than Rush.

  • @17R3W Ever heard of crossover/overlap? In some cities Rush can be heard on 3 stations at once, from what I understand. Plus many listeners have paid subscriptions to his website to listen (to the lengthy show) when they can. Most conservatives have jobs you know, unlike Leftists.

If Schultz could pull a larger total market share, he would be doing it. But he is lucky to survive as is. Most of his latest increase is due to the publicity of his failing TV show. Even bad publicity helps.

  • @antimarxism

Yeah, I'm familiar with over lap. Rush blankets the country, while Ed is only available in pockets.

Yes, there are paid subscribers, but that's not limited to Rush, many people get satellite for Liberal talk. You can also pay to podcast Ed, and in fact most any radio show.

Doubling Ed's station would necessarily double Ed's audience, but at the same time; are we surprised that Rush brings in a larger audience with 7x the stations?

  • @17R3W Your premise is entirely flawed, textbook logical fallacy, and devoid of the reality of economics and free markets.

In talk radio there is very minimal exponentiality of exposure relating to audience numbers. Success in increased market share and number of outlets, is spurred by and directly relates to the increased demand. Not the other way around.

What works for the music business, has never worked for talk radio. Therefore all the frustration of Leftist talk show hosts

  • @17R3W "You can also pay to podcast Ed"

I'm sure all 10 paid subscribers are very satisfied....lol! Rush has about 120,000 paid subscribers to just the radio show. That on top of that he is on up to 3 stations at once in major markets, you would have to quadruple his ratings to get an even figure.

"...are we surprised that Rush brings in a larger audience with 7x the stations?"

No, because there's a demand for it. Like I said, there is no demand for Schultz on that level whatsoever

  • Save the republic, Dems! Impeach 'em both!

  • This is awesome! Thank you for posting this!!

Ed Schultz rules, he's calling politicians on all of their B.S., and showing how out of touch they are with the citizens of this country. Wasserman must go!! She is exactly what is wrong with the Democratic party and politics as a whole. This is about the Constitution, the country, and our future. It is not a joke and not a time to be wishy-washy, it is a time to be smart and do what needs to be done. Impeach!!!!!!
