Because this is a news report about the significance of this event, not a homage to the American National Anthem.
Instead of getting annoyed about a reporter doing their job, why not listen to what he's saying and see the bigger picture? This is about peace, why are you bitching?
And yes, they would still be talking over our national anthem if it was the LSO - because it's still a news report.
