Making charcoal in Ivory Coast

The president and rebel leader agreed on a new peace plan to reunite it in March 2007, to be implemented over 10 months.

THey could improve their process and reduce illness by using some barrells and cooking the wood inside the barrels in pits covered with straw or in larger cooking kilns fired by some of the charcoal itself. Once the kiln was lit, it could actually burn the gases emitted from the barrell. That way it would produce very little smoke.
