Protest for Troy Davis Cleveland,Ohio Sept 16,2011

For those unfamiliar with the Troy Davis story, it has been underway since August 1989, and begins in Savannah, Georgia, where an off-duty police officer was murdered while allegedly providing assistance to a homeless man under attack.
Since then Davis' has become the seminal death penalty case of the 21st century. AFP reports that yesterday "petitions with 663,000 names were handed to the Georgia Board of Pardons and Paroles urging clemency," which will be considered by the court on Monday. Today from Hong Kong to Paris, Latin America to the United States, over 300 protests are being held to urge the Georgia Board of Pardons and Paroles to reconsider using the death penalty with Davis.

The story has all the makings of a trial gone wrong: since 1996 seven of the nine prosecution witnesses have recanted all or part of their testimony, the stanchest witness is the original suspect, and no physical evidence was retrieved linking the accused to the crime. @wallst926 Thanks, no reason except for I was not totally aware of Larry Brewer's execution until later. We are working to end the death penalty, everywhere in the US. Thanks for posting a comment.

Funny, I seem to recall that there were 2 executions that day Troy Davis & Larry Brewer but you decided to only focus on Troy Davis...I wonder why you decided not to protest Larry Brewer's execution...just like Troy he went to his death proclaiming his innocence.
