The Holy Shroud, commonly known as the Shroud of Tourin, is one of the most studied religious objects in the world. But, its still riddled with unanswered questions that continue to puzzle experts.

There has been some progress, however, in better understanding it. The Pontifical Athenaeum Regina Apostolorum in Rome invited Catholic and non-Catholic experts alike to come together and share their latest findings.

Avinoam Danim is a Jewish expert on botany. A few years ago, he discovered traces of plant life in the shroud that only bloom in March and April and are native to a very specific region.

One geographical conclusion is that the only place on earth where people could put the plants that are not wilted on the body of a man is between Jerusalem and Hebron. The distribution of these plants today are coinciding in that area.

After a fire that nearly destroyed the shroud in 2003, a group nuns repaired it with pieces of linen. After analyzing the repaired parts of the shroud, Professor Giulio Fanti discovered a second image of the face of the man behind the Holy Shroud

After comparing the top and the bottom parts, you can see perfectly that these anatomical details—the nose, the mouth, etc—correspond to the frontal image. This isnt my opinion. Its the result of a special analysis done through a computer that compared both parts

The Holy Shroud is kept in the Cathedral of Tourin in northern Italy. The Pope has authorized a public display of the shroud in the spring of 2010, the first time after a series of restorations.

If you do'nt believe that a 13th century merchantman could have sailed to Palestine, bought a length of cloth, transported it back to Europe sold it or paid a forger to create a 'Holy relic' for some gullible Nobleman to purchase in order to prove his piety, then I have a great deal for you involving the Brooklyn Bridge!

If the shroud is a fake then it is worthless as anything other than an interesting historical, aside.

If real then it proves nought but that a man died 2000 years ago.

  • they need to do a new dating on this now!! how could they do the mistake of dating a repaired piece...Thumb up for this!

  • The Shroud is REAL. This is the burial cloth of Jesus Christ. There is more evidence to support it than to go against it. A biased group of people did 1 carbon test (which nobody seen) and c 14 has been proving to to inaccurate to 1,000+ years. Believe He is Risen

  • why the fuck do we need the shroud we already have evidence he existed from a number of roman historians who also say an eclipse of the moon took place when jesus died so something weird happened 2000 years ago otherwise we would not be talking about him i mean the jews had a different messiah every week why was this one so special and why else would the jews worship a criminal as the romans saw it in my opinion he was extraordinary only human 2 be worshipped as god

  • @TheJaburress Jesus IS alive in heaven, He resurrected HIS OWN body after they crucified HIM, Overcoming death by HIS OWN POWER, SO WHEN WE DIE, WE WHO HAVE THE SAME holy Spirit IN US, CAN BE RAISED TO LIFE, Otherwise, you have no hope as He said; Joh 11:25 Jesus said to her, "I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in Me, though he may die, he shall live.. Satan denies it because he was defeated by Christ's resurrection.

  • Jesus is in heaven alive! If he wasn't thn y do so many try to disprove him every time some one finds something about him and if the shroud is fake thn y is it still not been proven 100% fake.

  • @gambleyourhealth whhhhhhaaaaaaattt....

  • If the shroud is real, then it has Jesus's DNA on it.

We could clone our own Jesus.

  • @guitarM4s7r I SEE YOU LIKE TO MOCK !!! ME ITS OK THEY DID THE SAME TO MY LORD JESUS I PRAY THAT GOD PUTS PEACE ON YOUR SOUL AMEN

  • @JesusLorloves Of course, you can't even spell your comment correctly.

  • Isn't it written: "Blessed are those who believe yet have not seen" ? So then why then put so much weight on an object that may or may not be real ? Maybe because the Biblical literalists need it to bolster their claims that everything in the Bible is to be taken absolutely literally or else...

  • @Tailgunner30 Then why/how does it have a negative image? Could they take pictures in the "13th century"? It has a photograghic negative (they still do't know, nor question, nor answer how THAT got on there) image on it. Could a "forger" paint a negative image in the 13th century? There are no brush strokes. It has 3 dimensional aspect that "as a painting/forgery" is impossible in art.
