  • Hey like the video. I have been using the MO6 for a few years and I've actually produced a full album using mostly this board. I also use a kurzweil SP2x for piano but find that in a larger mix the Yamaha piano sounds much sweeter if you tweek slightly with the EQ and effects. If you can check out my channel to hear some of the many sounds from this amazing board, never a big Yamaha fan but at this price, theres nothing on the market to touch this machine

  • @eamonnkarran

Yup. Basically, if you don't need a sampler and you can't afford a flagship workstation - MO is the way to go. Oh, and great work on those piano pieces of yours. I used to have soundclick account with my own stuff but I shut it down

  • Bought this machine about 2 years ago an uprgrade to my sy yamaha 85... so far: build quality -keys feels like domestic keyboard too shallow, body thin plastic and cheap too light sound- acoustic piano sounds thin, some electric piano are quite good sound layout not the best drums nice and deep, i like the snares strings not many choices. it does sound good on video demo, thats what covinced me to get one . semi professional keyboard as the price range suggests. overall rating 5/10...

Yea, keys on the MO are not the best, but you can't really expect them to be at this level. Just take a look at the competitors like korg TR or the newer M50. MO's keybed is MUCH better. Thin plastic body? Compared to the TR or the M50, MO is a tank :)

  • @maybuhay

All sounds are identical to the flagship motif ES so I guess you just don't like the motif soundset in general. I've been activly giging with various gear for the last 10 years and I still haven't found any brand to sound better live then yamaha

  • Love that chord progression at 1:35 Very smooth

  • @BasilGnet

    Good luck then :)

  • @rickashake Thank you for answer and great demo! Very beautiful! I have Yamaha MM6. It's a good machine for it's money. But my eyes more often look at higher and true Yamaha's workstations. I hope someday I will gladden them)

  • @BasilGnet

True, but the MOX has a bit better keybed quality. The biggest problem I have with the MOX is the polyphony. 64 notes on the MO sometimes was not enough if you used all 4 voice parts in the performance mode (keep in mind MO/MotifES voices are 4 part voices so 4 part performance can mean 4x4=16 "parts). MOX has Motif XS voice setup meaning it has 8 part voices on the same polyphony as the MO. The keyboard can barely handle it

  • This workstation has a high-quality and professional view. The quality of material of body looks solid and nice. Also is very important that this machine is made in Japan.

Unfortunately, new Yamaha MOX6 doesn't have all of this: looks, like a toy (cheap plastic of body) and made in China. That's pity.
