Damn, a couple of months ago I saw a guy get fucked up bad by a car in an intersection. He went flying and the bike was crumpled. He got up right away and ran off the road but it must have just been instinct because he collapsed on the side of the road. Not sure what happened to him but he didnt ever get up and they took him in the ambulance. I am pretty sure riding on the road is never really safe but you can make it safer.

What is wrong with you people, criticizing this video so harshly? In many ways this was an excellent video. Excellent lighting, focus, sound quality. Nice set, excellent presenter. I'd like to have seen some cutaways of a bike in traffic, but I do not need to call this guy names to make that point. You actually seem offended that someone did all the work of creating and posting a free video for you.

9 Ride a metre out from parked cars so opening doors don't injure you.
10 Actually, only use a cycle lane if it makes you feel safer.
11 Is there a quieter route you can take rather than the main roads you might be used to in your car. It could even be more direct.
12 Read more about urban cycling until you are hearing the same things again and again... then you have heard all the different points of view.
