This is my moms Grey parrot named Pete. Ever since the day she got him as a baby he has HATED me until recently. Now he LOVES me and flirts with me all the time! Notice how he does that throw-up thing, that is the highest compliment a bird can give :)

  • I only want to be a friend to my timenh, but he does this to me too. How do I get him to quit it?

  • I don't think you can get him to quit doing it. He just loves you very very much. It's pretty flattering I think. The only thing I would suggest is not to pet his feet or back a lot and limit the flirting time. I don't really know much about birds, only what I have learned over time with my Mom's bird. Hope that helps :)

  • omg!!

my parrot does that to me...

i thought he was being sick and wasnt well haha

    i got well scared!

so what does it mean? that he fancys you?lol

and is it not unusual for them to do the dance to humans?

  • I was told that it just means that your bird loves you very much. It is not unuaual for your bird to dance around and do the throw up thing, it just means that they think your pretty neat! My mom's bird still does the dance for me once in a while, but not as often as he did when I took this video.

  • oh i just realized yours does it too.

    lol

  • He doesn't actually throw up his food though, just looks like he's going to. He still does it though whenever I go to my moms. It's pretty funny. :)

  • Yes, this is classic sexual behavior in an African Grey and you should not encourage it, it only frustrates the bird. Please don't take this as a criticism, just education!

  • @Spottedleaf492

He chooses his one mate ... and unfortunaty the boss is his mate ...

And mine did it yesterdag also ... I thought he was sick ... but after some information on a durch forum now I know its a mating dance ... you can be proud xxxx

  • @leahcimrac If you're a guy, and your parrot acts like that near you, then she's a girl, and she is attracted to you (if you know what I mean). You shouldn't let your parrot get so intimate with you. This will not do her any good. After all, she can't mate with you. :) When you pet her, only touch her beak and nothing else. In other words, reduce contact, and maybe she will eventually stop acting horny.

  • @Chaif15Let yeah sorry i naturally call it a he simply because we weren't sure and had to choose a sex lol. He's called Max which can be a boys or girls name.

  • @leahcimrac When you say "he", do you mean that your parrot is a boy, or you don't know for sure?

  • @Chaif15Let Is there anything I can do for him while hes doing it? Not sexually of course.

  • @leahcimrac Parrots make that sound when they are horny. This is all part of their sexual behaviour.

  • What was that noise the parrot was making at 1:10? Mine does that too and I don't know hes scared or something.

  • lol your grey like runs, my grey has never moved that fast on a flatish surface
