This is the beginning of the 26th episode of the 3rd Season of "Star Trek: Deep Space Nine"(The Adversary); since I love some military protocol and stuff, I decided to share this scene when Commander Benjamin Sisko is awarded with the rank of Captain.

  • Sisko was already a bad ass.

With the addition of the goatee = MORE BAD ASS.

With the addition of the shaved head = MOST BAD ASS.

  • totally!!

  • Ceremony not cerimony.

  • Ouch! I did this in a hurry, didn't even notice this mistake. Thanks a lot!

  • "Here's to the newest and best captain in Starfleet."

It always bugs me when O'Brien says shit like that. Dude, you served with Jean-Luc Picard. Did you forget that already?!

  • @pinoi78 AMEN

  • @SuperSaiyanAl

Oh no, he remembered alright. ;)

  • @SuperSaiyanAl You might be able to say Sisko was better than Picard after his leadership during the Dominion war, but not here. You're right. I guess O'Brien is trying to make Master Chief Petty Officer.

  • @Jallorn The Sisko is indeed a worthy captain. But Picard will always be number one to me.

  • I'm surprised Odo doesn't get ranks, it seems to me like they would totally fit into his desire for order. It's a clear and easy to understand way of letting people where they stand in the order of things.

  • @SuperSaiyanAl He's just telling the facts.

  • @SuperSaiyanAl Hey, O'Brien's looking for that next promotion! Can't blame him!

  • all this Picard vs Sisko is stupid, as usual. Picard proved he's as battle ready and capable as Sisko is perceived to be, and Sisko as provedn to be as ingenious and tactful as Picard is. Its just the nature of their two shows. Had DS9 stayed the way it was in seasons one and two, all this"Battle Captain" nonsense would be for not. Had a war broken out during the TNG run, all this "Peacetime captain" stuff would be for naught. Each are among the best.

  • So if TNG grew a beard did DS9 shave its head?

  • @SuperSaiyanAl What about the Captain of the Enterprise B from Star Trek Generations (played by Alan Ruck). That guy was a bad ass who was a living legend.....or maybe not.

Although I never gave DS9 a chance, through DVDs I started watching Voyager. I discovered, when I gave it a chance, it was better than I expected. Through some "Best of" DVDs, I've liked a few DS9 episodes & I like the actor & character of Sisko. I look forward to giving the show a chance when I buy the set.
