In an effort to climb another rung in the social ladder, Basil arranges a gourmet night. Unfortunately, thanks to the chef's alcoholism, Basil must try to get hold of a duck from his friend, André. This, combined with the Fawlty's faulty car and his social awkwardness leads Basil ever closer to a nervous breakdown.

I watched this in the seventies, as a teenager, and those guests looked to me to be ancient - and the odd thing is they STILL DO! What the hell age are they meant to be ?? 60 ? 70? 80? - who on earth dresses or ever dressed like that ..................??????????

That kid is so annoying! And the mother is even worse! I know people like that, their kids are allowed to do whatever the fuck they want and when you ask them to disciipline their " little darling (fallen)angels ", they go all ignorant, like "what is he doing" or defensive like this "very clever, but highly strung". But, Fawlty had a deadly comeback, as always!
