Ultimate Ninja got better, but UN3 was the best and most improved in my opinion. UN2 had crappy support characters, bad characters, and satisfactory graphics.

I probably can't say anything to change your mind, but remember that these games are three years old from when they were released in Japan - don't base them off of current generation standards. That's the problem... everyone does.
