Just a nice leisurely drive from my home town, Udon Thani to the beautiful Nong Khai in northern Thailand.

@ JosephKing; How long was the drive? Please let me know the estimated time. I am curious. The thing is I trace back my way as a refugee with my family from North Central Laos to Vientiane and cross the Mekong to Nong Khai, and in the middle of the night, fron Nong Khai to Udon Thani. I know everything before, but not this route nor the distance. I would like to know the estimated time, try to figure my old trip back then, and maybe someday re-trace my way back. Thanks.

I went to Nong Khai in 1973 I have great memories in Thailand.

I drove the old road from Udon Thani to Nong Khai in 1971, We were on rented Yamaha 125cc motorbikes. Was in Nong Khai 2 years ago and drove down to Udon Thani by van. The difference was amazing. The old road was a narrow 2 lane road with not much of anything but open space.
