**NOTE** iPhone 4 does NOT have this noise. Only my iPhone 3G does this. The iPhone 4's noise floor is as silent as you'd expect. Only the 3G is this noisy.
*UPDATE* I have an iPhone 4S now, and it has the same noise that the 3G does, heh. Oh well.
Just received the XCarLink iPhone adapter for my '07 Mazda 6 and got it hooked up to the stock stereo and gave it a try before putting the dash and everything back together, only to be greeted with some strange repetitive background noise. I've got the stereo's volume turned up fairly loud in the video just to make sure you could hear the noise I was talking about. Compared to the music's volume, the noise is relatively quiet. But it is still loud enough that you can hear it in quiet portions of songs quite often, and naturally you can hear it plain as day in between songs. I'm hoping they just grabbed an iPod one off the shelf by accident instead of an iPhone one. But if there isn't actually a seperate model for iPhones and they all have this problem, then I'm very disappointed. If that's the case, it's so annoying as to be useless, really.
