This is one of the test footages that I shot with the new Panasonic AG-HMC40, the video was transported to the Imac with an SD card and edited on Final Cut Express 4.0.1, Apple's online tech support was adament that neither the camera in question nor the Final Cut express would work with the AVCHD footage I captured, I guess they were wrong because FCE 4.0.1 automatically recognised the AVCHD footage, the log and transfer was seamless. This new Panasonic AG-HMC40 is probably on of the most advanced professional little form factor camcorder I have seen, it has all the inputs and settings a normal Pro cam should have, I still have to shoot some test footage like low light, indoor light, outdoor, fast motion etc.

  • The footage was recorded in the lowest setting so it looks like this on YouTube but on DVD and played in hd tv it is absolutely fantastic

  • @burnstagger / quality i agree is crappy because i didn't upload the whole video in hd, this was only a test , even the white balance wasn't set , i had one day 2 test the camera and it blew me away, case in point, now a year later i have logged over 600 hours of video footage and the camera has paid off 20 times over, the best thing is to get a 16 or 32 gig sd card , no more dealing with tapes or sending out to canon service with my ag h1, i love this camera and bought 3 more for remote covera

  • Hey can you upload a true 720p version?

  • i will upload a 720 clip for you buddy, give me a day or two, too tired from walking the convention center, they should have those moving walkways like the airports.

  • i use it fcp 6 , its a breeze, i just shot the entire chicago motorbike show, tested this camera to its limits and was impressed, even a friend of mine from NBC was there covering and he couldnt believe the stuff this little baby could do, keep watching all my future shoots are with the AG HMC 40 , THIS IS PROBABLY THE BEST CAMERA I HAVE EVER USED, I AM SHELFING THE CANON AXH1 BELIEVE IT OR NOT.

  • @COVERCHICAGO It looks just awful. I can tell you really liked this camera and were trying to promote it, but the video quality posted on you tube was awful. Regardless of what you say about the camera, which was all good, at the end of the day, seeing is believing. Mastering your video in a format like 1920x1080 24p or 23.98sf (the native format of the AG-HMC40) would have done this camera justice.

  • Quality looks pretty crappy for a "pro" camera. I'd be pissed if I paid $2,200 for that.

  • hey, hope you enjoy my channel!

  • I may have one of these myself by the end of next month. Hoping to shoot a feature film with it.

    Great stuff. :)

  • where did the final cut express editing come into play with this footage?
