  • Great stuff.

You might also like.........Glory Box by Portishead.

    Another interpretation.

  • @andrea22213 I luv Portishead, have to agree with you there ;0)

  • Ahem..! Excuse me but I think this is Rod Stewart..? Or are my ears deceiving me..?

  • @hmscollingwood Yes it's Rod who was featured on this track...Python Lee Jackson was an Australian band active from 1965 to 1968.

  • @LaybuyLee I always thought this was Jeff Beck with Rod Stewart?

  • @mark22160 ...... This is the original from 1972. Rod was bought in as a session singer for this track as Dave Bentley lead singer of Python Lee Jackson said his voice wasn't right for the song!!!! ............Original band members were David Bentley David Montgomery Mick Liber Tony Cahill & Gary Boyle............ Rod did however perform this in around 2006-2008 with Jeff Beck ;0)

  • 40 years since I first danced to this in Tiffanys at Shaftesbury Ave London they were the best days ever

  • Ah Rodney - great then and great now!

  • love this, still remember the words, found a copy in my nans record collection in the 70's I'm now a Nan myself

  • good post spencershuk. great tune. just got in from a night out. smoking a spliff and this song suddenly came to me whilst watching the cricket highlights. off to listen to some classic rod now. Man of constant sorrowl Tune......

    Peace chaps

  • Yes its the Man himself , Python lee needed a decent singer and Rod was available ,,at the time,, crackerjack song

  • The Modster's best song ever ,,,,

  • @MISSION315 I agree!

  • MY ALL TIME ROD TRACK FROM THAT GOLDEN AGE 1972 BRILLIANT !

  • Rod often jokes that he never got any payment at all for his performance on this track. For me I just love this number , remember it as a kid , and its high pitched guitar solo's.
