The Worst Place to be in an Earthquake!

Came down an old logging road (very windy) to get to the coast. All that is left of the big trees are the stumps.

Spent this morning (9th Aug 2008) (after trying, with little success to eliminate the video lines on Hope), I then went down to the Californian coast (just North of Fort Bragg) to see what there was to see at low tide. LOTS as it turns out.

I think you've gotten some of your data mixed up johnnyk2112. There are living trees in the redwood forests a couple thousand years old. They are native to the Pacific coast. From what little I could glean on the net they were distributed throughout Asia, Europe, and North America from about 160-5 millions years ago. Changes in climate reduced the genera to three and shrunk their ranges.

I never heard the term rock pools before. When I was a kid over there I always heard tidal pools.
