E-mails have emerged of alleged payments to the police by the News of the World (NoW), triggering fresh calls to investigate the relationship between officers and Rupert Murdoch's newspaper empire.

The e-mails have also thrust David Cameron's former spokesman Andy Coulson back at the centre of the scandal, as they date from his editorship of the News of the World from 2003 to 2007.

What I don't get and am outraged about is why it's taken 8 years to full expose all this and start taking action?! Brooks admitted to paying off police officers from 2003!!! Where has the (lawful) police, Parliament and the world in general been??!! Why did we let this slide for 8 years?" It's really made me lose faith in our justice system, police and laws. This shouldn't have been allowed to go on for this long and frankly it's made our country look bad.
