Well it looks a lot different to a lot of the American cartoons that I watch-it looks more like a painting-a living storybook come to life

Russian animation is gorgeous-not to mention very unique.

What do you think makes it visually unique? I was thinking about this myself the other day. I mean, there's a difference in mediums they use, but also they just have a different "feel" as well. In a strange way, It is kinder, yet more open, blunt in terms of emotions.

It is interesting to see that the boy immediately values the hunchback horse, even with the 2 beautiful horses there. There are many fables where the ugly magical creatures are forsaken until they prove their true powers.
