Hong Kong Lantau Island & Tai O Trip 大嶼山 & 大澳之旅

It's my trip to Hong Kong Lantau Island Tai O last few months.

Ngong Ping 360 is destined to be one of Hong Kong's 'must see' attractions in Lantau Island. Preserving the natural ecological environment and features of the Ngong Ping area and converging the custom and culture of the Lantau Island, Ngong Ping 360 is sure to refresh your body and enlighten your mind, as soon as you step on the Cable Car.

I recommend to experience Ngong Ping 360 crystal cable car.
Why is 360? Because the cable car journey begins from Tung Chung, crossing Tung Chung Bay to reach the angle station on Airport Island and turning about 60 degrees in the air towards North Lantau.
I ate lots of local snacks in different food shops. They are delicious.

At the same day, you can visit traditional fish village, Tai O (大澳) the village on the west coast of Lantau that has been fancifully dubbed the "Venice of Hong Kong".

天 壇 大 佛
享 負 盛 名 的 天 壇 大 佛 座 落 於 大 嶼 山 木 魚 山 頂，正 好 面 對 寶 蓮 寺 牌 坊，是 全 球 最 大 的 戶 外 青 銅 坐 佛，是 由 中 國 航 空 航 天 部 設 計 和 制 作，工 程 歷 時 12 年，耗 資 6,000 多 萬 港 元，用 銅 量 達 250 餘 吨，黃 金 4 千 多 斤；銅 像 高 26.4 米 地 約 6567 平 方 米，造 型 一 臉 祥 和， 右 手 眾 生 不 畏 險 阻。




寶 蓮 寺
經 過 青 馬 大 橋 後，會 到 達 被 譽 為 香 港 四 大 襌 院 之 首 的 昂 平 寶 蓮 寺。此 寺 院 始 建 於 1924 年，享 有 南 天 佛 王 國 雅 譽，數 十 年 來 香 火 鼎 盛。寺 院 採 用 宮 殿 式 設 計，有 大 雄 寶 殿 和 天 天 大 殿，殿 下 為 齋 堂，可 同 時 容 納 數 百 人；齋 堂 側 有 留 宿 之 所，以 便 遊 人 登 鳳 凰 山 觀 看 日 出 或 作 短 暫 清 修 之 用。寺 內 外 設 有 不 少 貨 攤，售 賣 各 種 與 佛 教 有 關 的 紀 念 品。

大澳
大嶼山四面環水，島上一地卻特別以水聞名，就是水鄉大澳。大澳古時以漁鹽為主，故繁榮富庶，是島上最多人聚居之地。而此地地形特殊，中心有一水將兩地相隔，居民則於沿水兩­岸搭建高腳的棚屋而居，兩岸交通則以人力拉動的潢水渡聯系，因而此地有水鄉之稱。社會進步，橫水渡已不復存在由吊橋替代，漁業日漸式微，此地漸成城市人郊遊勝地，而很多外­國人亦喜愛此地水鄉風情故而至此，是香港旅遊的熱點之一。

特色：大澳漁業式微後，轉以海產加工而聞名，踏足此地即可聞咸魚及蝦醬等味道，而到中心大街可見兩旁滿是賣海味之地，到此遊覽切勿錯過購買海產作為手信。

Memories...indeed. Big Buddha was definitely bigger than I thought. I will always recommend the crystal cabin, well not for people afraid of height. Is it just me, but I find food are very cheap in Hong Kong compared to UK.
