@allenglandlawns why are you responding to yourself?

@getrealandsee I couldn't agree more. Nationals is still Kwan's event even if she was two timezones away. It's like 'here you go Michelle...a spot on the Olympic team. We'll give it you bc you're...well the KWAN'. Absolute crap and an insult to the athletes who did put in the work and COMPETED. Heaven forbid anyone else to steal the spotlight from her.

This is Nats. Michelle Kwan will win. Michelle Kwan KNOWS that she will win. She will be given 6.0s regardless of skating order or performance. She assumes that. She just bumbled and fumbled and graciously accepted the gold medal. She wasn't apprehensive about Nats...she expects the gold and the commentators all but hang it around her neck before she steps on the ice. Heck, she didn't even bother to skate (groin owie..oooh) in 2006 and she was still handed 3rd..no medal but EMILY'S Olympic spot.

@allenglandlawns Those who libel people they don't know, without a shred of evidence to bak up their smears -- you -- are seen for what they are: low-life losers.
Wake up, grow up, and go kiss T(i)ara's ass, instead of consistently being a hateful ass and spamming troll.

@anubethc45 True, Sasha and Alissa handled their disappointments with considerably more maturity and poise than Tonya ever did, but they still have reputations of crumbling under pressure of competition in that they repeatedly failed to skate their best when they most needed to. I put Tonya Harding in a different category. She was a train wreck.

@anubethc45 In my view, being inconsistent and unable give your best performance when it counts most is a choker. How many times was Sasha Cohen in position to win a major titles but didn't do it because of sub-par performances? 2004, '05', '06 Worlds and '06 Olympics to name a few. As for Czisny, she is just as likely to skate terrific performances as she is to have a meltdown. I love them both, but just because Alissa and Sasha are levelheaded about it all doesn't mean they didn't choke.

@allenglandlawns: You're an idiot; always have been, always will be. Of the five world golds that Kwan won, four (96, 00, 01 and 03) involved flawless, skate of her life programs, the first three including 7 triples (and the two triple-triples). She had to come from behind or skate the programs of her life. In 98, she landed six triple jumps. Kwan had to earn EVERY championship title she entered, and it's hilarious to argue that judges from Europe would prop Kwan up. WHY???
-
A bungle on the axel, an simple layback, and an easy solo triple and yet she still gets a 6 for being the KWAN. OMG the pampering and propping up of this loser is sickening when real athletes break have to break their backs to earn their scores.
Really? I don't think a nine-time national champion, five-time world champion, and two-time Olympic medalist can ever be considered a choker. She didn't skate her best in 2002, but the other comment here was correct--she was great in 1998 and just got beat by Tara. Split decision.
Chokers are not icons, chokers do not revolutionize their sport, chokers do not win. Michelle Kwan is no choker--get it straight.
If you really want to talk chokers, let's talk about Sasha Cohen.

ithinkformyself, getrealandsee, or whatever. They are the same person who has nothing to do but devastating Michelle everywhere on youtube. I have reasonable doubt that they are Tara's mom or someone relate to her. Because 1, they attack no one else but Michelle, 2, they totally praise Tara, 3, they always say "Tara brought the Olympic Gold HOME". I am a proud American, yet don't feel any of them brought the medal HOME. So, don't get upset with them, since you know why...
