My run of Stage 1 at the AZ chapter of the American Confederation of Tactical Shooters (ACTS) at the Pima Pistol Club. I'd never attended an ACTS match (or any other match of this type) before, but I THOROUGHLY enjoyed it and will be back for sure!
As a note, I placed 16 out of 40, so not fantastic, but far from terrible. I made pretty good hits, so now I just need to speed things up a little to lower my score. :) ACTS is scored like golf, so the lower your score, the better.
Course of fire: The shooter begins with a loaded handgun, standing inside a staging "box" (blue painted rebar). At the buzzer, the shooter must drag the blue barrel with them to the first barricade and engage each steel popper on both sides of the barricade until each falls.
The shooter then advances to the next barricade and engages three more poppers, being sure not to hit the hostage/no shoot targets (15 second penalty assessed for each hostage hit).
Finally, the shooter moves to the final barricade and engages the Texas Star. I'd never shot at one of these targets before, but found it very easy to hit provided you didn't follow the targets with your muzzle, but rather held steady where you thought the next point of the star would stop, and then break the shot. Once all five points of the star are shot, the stage is over.
Raw stage time: 47.15 seconds
Corrected stage time: 47.15 seconds
