Performed at Jacob's Pillow Dance Festival, Becket, MA, July 1-5, 2009.

Transport into a universe of razor-sharp dancing, video effects, electronic rhythms and beautiful melodies with a new take on Shakespeare's "Romeo and Juliet," set to the music of Radiohead, today's most influential alternative rock band. In a rare U.S. engagement, this powerfully gorgeous contemporary ballet by Romanian choreographer Edward Clug, a fast-rising star and artistic director of Ballet Maribor, casts superb ballet dancers that give new life to this timeless tale of conflict, fate and love.

  • Idk if it's a ridiculous question but is it possible to learn a small combo from this piece? I want to but idk how. Do you have any suggestions?

  • @ilykiaomg Not a ridiculous question but that wasn't the intention of this piece of video so might be quite difficult. Would love to know what you like about the movement. Maybe you could make your own combo based on the ideas or feelings you got from watching the dancers. What do you think?

  • fyi - this company/piece is performing in New York City at the Skirball Center for the Performing Arts Oct 21 & 22, 2011.

  • just saw them last night; superbly done. It was unique and very fun to watch!

  • @SilverChakraShinobi So glad you got to see the performance live!

  • What type of dance would you call this???...Lyrical?

  • @rosewiener Hi there. Good question. The company describes the work as a ballet but the movement vocabulary is pulling from multiple contemporary influences. By "Lyrical" you may be referring to the sequential and fluid quality of the dancers. Did you enjoy the excerpt?

  • This is one of the most brilliant ideas ever!!!! I love radiohead and the dancing is just breathtaking!! It seems like a combo of the classical ballet lines with the street dance feel and movements in it. It is now one of my all-time favorites!!:)

  • AWESOME TRAILER!
