Yeah, Japan is AWESOME.

Some people prefer the car videos because it is more interesting than sitting at the computer...
it is difficult to keep everyone happy...

Can you refuse working overtime? Can you spesify at jobinterview that you can't/don't want to do overtime? Can you even get a job like that? I know that Japanese family lives many times are quite horrible just because of the man doing all the work 12+ hours a day.

The thing is that the benefits provided to retirees and, in general, companies taking care of employees may not be sustainable.
With the population shrinking and the average age increasing, it is becoming less and less possible for companies, and probably government as well, to "take care of" their employees as they have historically. The system of private and social benefits are in a state of crisis that is much more extreme than, for example, Social Security and private pensions in the US.

Guys, what he mean by plans is stuff like.. say you told a friend you'd hang out with them on Thursday, but then your boss says that everyone is going drinking on Thursday.. It would be better to cancel on your friend. However, if it's something major like a surgery, sick family member, and so on, it's a reasonable excuse to cancel.

I like your car videos because it's an interesting background to look at while listening, but you may want to see if you can get a mic you can put closer up because it can be hard to hear... great videos though, thanks for them.

Wow, working in Japan sounds pretty crappy.
What if the boss is a foreigner? Is it still typical for his/her (Japanese) subordinates to interact with them like that?

@savetherocks
If the foreigner is the boss.. chances are his/her boss will be Japanese ^_^

I plan to go there my Junior year of college through an exchange program (I'm a Freshman right now) and by then I'll be eligible to drink. This is kind of a tangent from this video but I was wondering, if I happen to make any friends while I'm there, if refusing an invitation to go out drinking with them (because I don't drink) would be in the wrong? Or would they be offended if I ordered a soda instead xD? (if they even offer sodas at bars or wherever they drink over there).
