Criminal penalties:
Prosecution is authorized under the Code for a variety of offenses. Depending on the level of the noncompliance, the following penalties could apply to an individual:
• Section 7203 misdemeanor willful failure to pay is punishable by a fine of up to $25,000 and/or imprisonment of up to one year.
• Section 7201 felony willful evasion is punishable by a fine of up to $250,000 and/or imprisonment of up to five years.
Now a health czar gets to determine what is "adequate healthcare" under this plan, not the individual and not the purchaser. This means you won't get the best healthcare plan for you. Health is individual. WE ARE NOT THE SAME!!!
We SHOULD care about the poor. But this bill is about CONTROL, not about helping people. If we could go back to a truly capitalist system, WITHOUT all the welfare and without all the govt handouts, all it would take is hard work to provide for your family and to maintain your healthcare.

Not only is that a load of crock, but your tax $'s will also go to pay 4 illegals who want to freeload off the "free" healthcare. Just remember, whenever something is free, there's always a catch to it. You're going to have to pay for it some how. It's not free. This has nothing to do with health care at all. People who think it is, are very misinformed. Don't just look @ the dollars. Look at what the legislation actually says. Stop listening to the load of bull the media is feeding you.

@FireThunderTV the health care bill will cover 94% to 96% of americans, it will set a marketplace where americans can buy insuranc, it will stop insurance companies from denying coverage for pre-existing conditions, and from raising insurance premiums based on age or gender. this bill is pay for by taxes on higher-earning Americans, and cuts to Medicare and Medicaid, also Congressional Budget Office estimates the Senate and House bills would save $132 billion and $138 billion dollars!!!

I don't think you understand what you're asking for. This legislation has NOTHING to do with healthcare! It's all about control. It will create 111 new federal bureaucracies at a cost of $1.055 trillion over 10 years. It will cost every taxpayer $15,000!!! You can get your own health insurance for a heckuva lot less than that! If you refuse to pay for government healthcare, you will be fined up to $250,000 and/or imprisonment of up to five years.
