i don't think the country can function without income taxes. but there are alot of greedy folks around, and those who misuse the taxes, usually it isn't this way because it is so compartmentalized , it isn't possible to keep social security incomes for folks without taxes, and it takes money to make the govt function, with no new agencies etc. you have stopped keeping up with the current needs, and these constantly change, population grows, that is too drastic, but one day a year, maybe ?

The country can function fine without income taxes. You only say that because you havent studied history. Income taxes have been around for less than 100 years. How did the country survive before that?

100% of income taxes collected goes straight to the private bank, the federal reserve. So your income taxes dont even go to the federal government.

We havent even talked about the Federal government does not have jurisdiction over the citizens in the states and no right to collect taxes.

it is only coincidence that the name of the person belly of fire is similar to my own real name. but the answer is here, maybe the govt can have a fed tax free day for people to buy things, not include tax for work, they would never approve of that , but a day that taxes is not charged for whatever items a individual consumer purchases. what do you think? no tax on consumer products for one day. and not only that , stores would probably have sales for this day. the govt DOES need tax to function

You are talking about 2 different kinds of tax systems. sales tax is a legal tax on the american people. Everyone pays the exact same. The federal government doesn't get any of the sales tax money, it is the state government.
