2ct's are not a track tire, you want to get race compound like michelin power race, dunlop 209 gp or 211, pirelli diablo supercorsa, for a new rider like yourself a set of race take offs (used) would be perfect and don't cost much. Look on craigslist or ebay. Your friend the instructor probably has a set of used tires. Good luck and here is a stat for you. 70% of all track day crashes are on street tires

I know an instructor at Keigwin...so I will probably go there. I use Pilot Power 2ct's on the street. I'd love to get my bike on the track and off the road. I am probably just going to buy a pair of 2CT's and put 100 miles on em before the track. What do you think?

glad to hear your getting off the street. I highly recommend going with ZoomZoom for a newbie track rider. They give excellent instruction and really pay close attention to the fisrt timers. Keigwin is also good and Pacific track time, in that order. Have fun and most of all get RACE COMPOUND TIRES.

Hey dood,
I'd say it's ok to be "Slow" as long as you are working on your technique the speed will come naturally. Right?
Hope to see you out at the track someday. I just got all my gear and I am looking for a good track day.
