**UPDATE**: RCM tweeted back to me (I know, OMG, WUT?!!!) and wants to let you guys know that there's a new annotated bibliography on the website!! Go check their website out!! http://www.rcmexaminations.org/

**WARNING: These videos are simply tips for studying (and entertainment, if you seriously have no life). Some exam requirements have changed due to the new syllabus, so I am not liable if you end up studying some of the wrong things. CHECK THE NEWEST SYLLABUS (2009).

*TIP*: Use the 2010 past examinations as a great guide to what you can expect on the exams! They were written after the new 2009 syllabus came out. :)

  • @788acw Haha, had to go back and check my records. 83. :)

  • @JustAnotherFlutist history 1 or 2?

  • @dragonmaster97531 You mean the one I got 83 in? History 3. But it's still called "Grade 5 History" on my records. Have they done away with the "Grades" now?

Definitely study your musical styles!! They're important. And knowing Piano Concerto in G/Pathetique/Moonlight might be useful, and also Symphony G minor/London Symphony because it wasn't on my exam last session.

  • @tonyyezj I know all of the medieval and renaissance pieces, so i would love for those to appear. The only thing i am scared of are the essays (the classical ad baroque pieces plus the composer's musical styles) :(

  • @dragonmaster97531

I actually had to BS a 5 point essay on Ave Maria for my exam this summer (as in completely write about random stuff). I knew the basis of the work (composer, genre) and nothing else. As long as you know the music from that period, especially for that particular genre, you'll be able to write a lot of generic things and they'd give you close to perfect marks. :D Especially for Grade 4 History there're two pieces of the same genre so just know one of them :D

  • @dragonmaster97531 Well... do you remember the answers you ended up putting on the old exams for the Baroque & Medieval composition sections? Chances are... you'll be writing down very similar answers 2 days from now. ;) Study your old exams!
