Nice rendition. A brickie once told me that 'your dirty lime' was correct. The lime was used in the mortar, and needed to be clean to make a good job. But 'lies' fits OK.
And of course 'Botany Bay' was the destination only for the First Fleet - after that they sailed into Sydney Cove. But again - it rhymes better, so turns up in many songs of the time.

I lost the album long ago in the divorce...time I replaced it?

@servusclementis If you pay attention I wasn't talking about the lyrics. I was only making comment on what goldenacacia said and I quote " Why is there a union jack in this video ???????????? ". The flag that was used when the first fleet arrived in Australia was the Queen Ann flag I was only bringing it to his attention.So it might be a good idea in future for you to read the comments correctly before becoming all authoritarian about the matter.

@chestybondrod If you pay attention to the lyrics you will note that the song refers to finding gold. The gold rush didn't start until the 1850's well after the Union Jack became the official flag. That said, it's only a youtube video and most people aren't historians like I am so they should not be held to such a standard since their motivation is love and not historical accuracy. Take it for what it is.

Love this song - Whatever happened to the Bushwackers?? I had a tape of theirs (long lost) in the 80s that I listened to constantly. Thank you Youtube and oiyoo!

@DasiaVu1 r u kidding

The union Jack should not be show as I said before . The flag of the time was called the Queen Ann Flag. The flag only had the Saint George cross and the cross of Saint Andrew on it as the Irish was not part of the union at that time.
-
@DasiaVu1 Actually it wasn't the Union Jack it was the Queen Ann Flag as the Irish was not part of the Union at that time.
