The United Auto Workers union is spending $3 million dollars on a pro-Democratic advertising campaign in four key industrial states.
The ads, featuring UAW members talking about lost health care benefits and manufacturing jobs, will be shown in Michigan, Indiana, Ohio and Pennsylvania, which together have 69 of the 270 Electoral College votes needed for Barack Obama to win the White House.
The UAW announced the move after John McCain, the Republican presidential candidate, pulled out of Michigan last week. The Michigan advertisements will be on cable television only, while spots in the other states will be on both cable and broadcast television.
Michigan, Ohio and Pennsylvania had been considered battleground states before the McCain campaign's pullout last week. Indiana, which borders Obama's home state of Illinois, hasn't voted for a Democratic presidential candidate since 1964, though recent polls have put Obama within a few percentage points of McCain there
If all things were theoretically equal your suggestion would be valid, but it isn't. Markets don't really sell the best products globally. Tariffs, trade barriers, politics, and other factors skew product availability and opinion. I say keep the union and quit paying senators 174k a year to work a few days a week.

Yeah, talk about crooked, paid-off politician. Yeah, "Change" alright. This should've been a warning sign, seeing as how Obama and hiw wife went to Harvard, yet BOTH seem dumber than a box of rocks.
