  • You need to get to the point quicker. I almost died waiting.

  • @Raay1901 I was actually doing that on purpose. These videos were created for my Chinese Quality Engineers who do not speak much English. I had to talk slow and make my point even slower. Funny thing is - YouTube was blocked in China right after I made these videos.

  • Thanks everyone for the comments. If there are any more tools you'd like me to show, let me know and I'll see what I can do.

  • This is very helpful, thank you for the info.

It taught me how to read it, and I have an exam on it tomorrow.

But why is it .686 and 3 10ths?

  • Well, if your question is in regards to reading the .0001" (10th) place, you have to find the numbered line that lines up to the dashes on the spindle.

The angle in which my camera person took this shot was a little off, so it is harder to see that the line marked '3' matched the dashes the best.

  • at the end you said that number, thats all

  • I also pointed to it but like I said, the camera angle wasnt the best.

  • I have a vintage micrometer that was used on a WWII ship to measure lenses for spy scopes. It has a metal base and mounts to a table. Could you show how to read one of those?
