  • I would seriously consider it, but I live down in Florida. I would not only have the expense of the converison, but then have to drive to D.C. and take time off for installation. Hymotion, you need to cover the S.E.

  • I do not want another car that uses fuel that the oil barons can manufacture, monopolize, and enslave us with. My god people, do you not realize that if we develop electric vehicles, the electricity you put into the car could eventually be produced on your own roof. After the roof panels are paid for your fuel costs drop to zero. The thousands not spent on gas in a few years would easily off-set the $3,000 - $5,000 cost of the batteries.

  • The problem is that no self-respecting (greedy) investor (who's only interest is money at any cost) is going to put money into a product that once sold gives no more return (I.E. EV's and solar panels) when they can invest in and promote an auto that requires a fuel (I.E. gas, hydrogen, ethanol,) that the car owner has no choice but to buy the fuel from them, increasing their profits significantly.

  • The auto industry designs concept cars that can solve the high gas demand problem, but refuse to market them. We need Plug-in hybrid electric vehicles. Loss of revenue can make large companies, even the auto industries; change their "business model". Sure the government can help with legislation to force them to put out new technology, but the true power is in our hands. Stop buying or leasing NEW gasoline powered cars for a year. Tell everyone to wait a year. See my vids.

  • yet G W bush helped kill the EV-1 in 2001 all those years its 2007 now so i turn my lonely eyes to Phoenix Motors sell me an all electric sport truck in Illinois

  • I called toyota about the RAV4 EV

They gave me 3 LAUGHABLE points of why it is gone

1- it cost them $40,000 a car (look at ebay---used they are selling for 65,000!)

2- it only got 50-70 miles a charge---Most people only drive 35 miles a day!

3- it cost $3,000 for the in home charger (how much did you spend on gas for the life of your car?--ALOT more than 3 grand im sure!)

  • Toyota had a lot of excuses there why they're not producing plug-in hybrids - none of which were true.

  • ManRayDali, looks like Mitsubishi have changed their minds about their electric Colt and decided to put a gas engine in there instead.

Well done Mitubishi: Back to the Futu, I mean Past.

  • Toyota sold a 100% electric RAV4 back in 1999-2002. It is still considered THE best Electric Vehicle ever built by a major automaker. Used ones appear on eBay every now and then and actually sell for MORE than the original price when they were new! There have been some political setbacks in the last few years, but there are some new EVs in the works from majors such as Mitsubishi and Subaru. It is also rumored that the next generation Prius will have Lithium batteries and plug-in capability.

  • This was very interesting. PHEV's are the easiest thing we can do to get off gas addiction with no inconvenience.
