@dmdpro5 She most certainly is not hip hop. There are hip hop influences, but there are so many other influences that she basically just created a new genre.

I just love to read the sentence "NO COPYRIGHT INFRINGEMENT INTENDED". Does the uploader of the video knows what copyright even means? It means that if you made a copy of the music by uploading it to youtube, then you have infringed the law that states you have no right to do so. That is what "copyright" means.
Note however, I'm not arguing for or against copyright here.

Someone had the audacity to try and tell me that she was a hip hop artist. I was almost offended. Nothing against Hip Hop, I love it, but Janelle has So many more influences to be called simply Hip Hop. I like to call her Alternative Electronic Neo Soul Acid Jazz Trip Hop Dance Punk Pop. Not really though, I just call her music, music.
