Daddlums Skittles Table - a traditional and rare game

The daddlums game with the peceived need to slide the cheese at the pins tends to explain why in Hood skittles we have two basic throwing styles. One being skimming (or frisby action) and the other being the arguably better action of the under arm pendulum swing that the vast majority use to great effect in the hood game. That said it is also understandable where that throw has come from by way of "London skittles" with their huge cheeses thrown to floor pins. Hope I get the chance to play all.

As a Hood skittler, it is really good to see this demonstration of Daddlums. Had always believed it to be a Kent game, though thought the cheeses had to land sliding before a line to be found half way or two thirds away from the front cheese.
Thanks for posting this video.
The line may yet appear on the table - still to decide. Have seen pics of the original Vigo Inn table which is unclear as to any markings. Timothy Finn's 'Pub Games of England' doesn't show a line. A repro table that was used in Dover did have a line. A line will be easier to add than to take off. Any advice from original Daddlums players will be much appreciated. I think a line probably one foot before front pin could be the answer. Thanks for comment.
