Tony Blair starts a loop on takeoff then rolls out to quickly gain altitude. HR II aircraft are modified Van's RV-4 with a six cylinder instead of a four, shorter wings for less drag, and a larger cockpit with a 'turtle deck'.
My thought is that Tony just went up with his camera , pulled up hard, turned it over then thought lets go down for more. Not a lot of planning and he doesn't have to. What he did is not that hard and its enjoyable. Then he gets the video and puts it on Youtube and thinks... "how do I get people to look at it... I know Immelman on take off... that will get people clicking on me"
I have know Tony for 10 years and would let him take my Kid and do aero's , He is one of the most level headed pilots i have meet and flown with him many times and have done aero's in his HR2. Yeah baby
raaf pilots automatically have an endorsement for aeros down to 500 feet. if he was octa and below 3000 feet you just need to be clear of cloud. as for the low flying you are allowed to fly low if the weather makes you.. maybe on that day the weather was too good to not fly low? thats the story i would use ;p haha
So that's what Tony Blair is doing now. After running England for so many years it's good to see he has found something more relaxing:)
Christ you people have nothing better to do than spit out righteous comments of criticism, So we all don't have the precision of Sean Tucker. Big fucking deal. Why don't you experts show us how great you are.
That's no immelman on takeoff- It's more like a sloppy 1/2 cuban eight. None the less it looks like alot of fun!! And after looking at the whole video- there must not be any rules at all down under:)!!!

Technically that was closer to a 1/2 Cuban, not an Immelman as the nose fell well below the horizon. Impressive, nonetheless - wish I had one.
