!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!READ DESCRIPTION!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
This is the firewood processor that my father and a friend of his(loading the wood) built from the ground up. A truck with a log loader(seen in background) is used to place the 8 foot logs on the machines feeding system. It is then pulled ahead with a hooked infeed chain(covered from vision by the log) and the spinning spiked wheel. The log is stopped by a hydraulic ram that leaves it at stove wood length(16 inches). It is then cut and split into more manageable pieces, which are carried away on a conveyor belt that is out of the screen. It is powered by a 6.8L turbo charged John Deere Marine Diesel that makes 225hp @ 2600rpm, this powers the hydraulics. It has a F-1119 Voac hydraulic chainsaw motor with a 25 inch bar, which is fed 64 gallons of hydraulic fluid per minute, this will turn the motor @ approx 14 000rpm . The hydraulic pump is a 64 gallon per minute Veljam capable of 3500psi. When this is delivered to the 6 inch cylinder 45 tons of splitting force is available. It has a 71cc Load Sense A-10 Bosch hydraulic pump. This is used to run cylinders that control the four-way and six-way splitting knives. Along with controlling the saw control cylinder infeed system and conveyor.
you know what's hot, it's the adjustable splitter knive height, f....ing good idea, that was the problem of all those commercial splitter, no adjustment. Is this all on tractor PTO ?
