STOLEN: A letter to my captor by Lucy Christopher
Sixteen year old Gemma is kidnapped from Bangkok airport and taken to the Australian Outback. This wild and desolate landscape becomes almost a character in the book, so vividly is it described. Ty, her captor, is no stereotype. He is young, fit and completely gorgeous. This new life in the wilderness has been years in the planning. He loves only her, wants only her. Under the hot glare of the Australian sun, cut off from the world outside, can the force of his love make Gemma love him back? The story takes the form of a letter, written by Gemma to Ty, reflecting on those strange and disturbing months in the outback. Months when the lines between love and obsession, and love and dependency, blur until they don't exist - almost. (Grades 9+)

  • Okay, I have a few book suggestions: The Hunger Games trilogy, and The Uglies series. With the Uglies series, I fell in love with the characters because I got to know them so well (there are 4 books in the series) and seriously I didn't want to read any other books after reading that series because I felt that those were MY characters and I would be cheating on them LOL

  • @fashionbug9880 I HAVE read The Hunger Games series. Frickin' amazing, love it to pieces. I've tired reading Uglies, but I couldn't finish it for some reason... I'll try it again, though! Thanks for the suggestion ^_^

  • Hahahahha, omg, you're so funny :)

I'm going to read this book for sure!

You should do more book reviews.. And you should read the book "Thirteen reasons why" :)

  • @KristinaHeartsMusic Thanks :) I have read "Thirteen Reasons Why" .... but it's been a while so I've forgotten what happened. Eep.

  • I LOVE THIS BOOK! IS THERE A SEQUAL?

  • @samantharocker123 sadly, there isn't D: but the author has another book called "Flyaway"!

  • I actually love that book!

It's so gripping that once I'd picked it up for the first time I just couldn't put it down.

I sympathised with Ty too, though god knows why...

And I laughed out loud (my parents think I'm mad now) at parts that I shouldn't have

Probably one of the most well writen books that I have ever read

I reaaaaaaaaaaaaally hope that a director reads it and turns it into a movie!

    :D

  • That was the best book iv ever read and i read it in one sitting, literally non stop! Im really sad still that iv finished it, i want there to be another one but ty's story, Lucy is thinking of making it!

  • @samantharocker123 Hey there...I emailed Lucie not too long ago and she replied by telling me that she's focusing on a couple of other books, but she definitly wants to make a sequal to Stolen. She just doesn't know when that'll be...lol

  • you're hilarious :P

  • I just finished the book and it AMAZING. I thought it was kind of odd how it didn't have chapters, but that also made me keep reading somehow haha. I also really liked how the book has "bad words" because it makes the book more realistic. I actually felt bad for Ty. 5/5 stars

  • The first thing I did when i finished this book was CRY.

and then hid it so I didn't have to look or think about it.

    it didn't help.
