You wouldn't have to wear shoes at the store I work at, and I singlehandedly caused that. A girl who'd lost her shoes was denied entry, so she asked to borrow mine and I let her. She was honest enough to return the shoes and hugged me and told me she had told my manager that I deserved a raise. The next day, the greeters was instructed to let barefoot people into the store.
