Jodi + Kurt // Vintage Wedding Highlights

I first met Jodi at a wedding back in October of 2009 when we first started transitioning from commercial work to weddings. I had heard of Jodi's amazing photography work before, but I never had the chance to work with her until that point (she was totally awesome). After the wedding we stayed in touch and I learned about Kurt, her camera wielding fiance (who now shoots with Jodi at every wedding). We all quickly became friends thanks to hilarious conversations, similar styles, passions for photography, and art. This friendship led to a contest earlier this year and teaming up to shoot quite a few amazing weddings together.

A few months ago, Jodi & Kurt asked me to be the cinematographer for their wedding and I was absolutely thrilled that I would have the opportunity to film it. Jodi & Kurt style their shoots with DIY touches, vintage props, and lots of love and care for the details, so I knew their wedding would be nothing short of amazing. The ceremony and reception were held at Jodi's family farm in Mt. Crawford, Virginia and it was absolutely gorgeous (look out for the clip of the double rainbow). With so many vintage touches (I am pretty sure they raided every local antique shop) I decided to surprise Jodi & Kurt by filming some portions on Super 8mm film (Kodak Plus-X for those interested). Film has a very timeless feel and I felt that it was really the best medium to capture their wedding day. I also had the pleasure of working with the incredibly talented Stephanie and Issac from Stephanie Williams Photography (they flew here from CA) and the always lovely Janie Medley from JM Flora/The Brides Cafe.
