Illegal immigrants urged to register themselves

Illegal immigrants currently residing in the country have been asked to register with the Immigration Department or the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees, failure to which they will face prosecution and deportation. The Government says it is taking this action to ensure homeland security is enhanced in the wake of the ongoing Operation Linda Nchi in Somalia. At the same time, the Department of Defence is expressing confidence it will rescue the two civilians abducted two weeks ago in Wajir.
