@brandon0trevino I signed up personally. As long as you have a checking account, you're good to go. You are free to register a business if you wish, but you're not obligated.

@markyw19 I'm the wrong person to ask, as are many of the early to not-exactly-early adopters. Over the summer of 2010, Square had a problem with sourcing the readers. It took me months.
That being said, now that they have a solid source and improved design, I'm hearing reports of readers being shipped in the same week. My thought? Sign up anyway. It's free, and if you decide to go with someone else because they can ship it out faster, do both!
