IEEE Spectrum (http://spectrum.ieee.org)visits an Air Force lab that is testing all sorts of jet fuel alternatives, made from coal, algae, and other sources. But true energy independence remains elusive, as many of these fuels have carbon footprints worse than conventional, kerosene-based jet fuel. • My only concern with the AirForce using Alge Biofuels in the future, would be that environmental weather patterns could inhibit the constant production of Alge fuels for the AirForce that is needed. With Coal to Liquids you won't have that problem and the country needs to stop kissing ass to the environmentalists!

  • what 'other' fuels are included?
