You almost need a flak jacket to go on an MSNBC show these days - at least judging by the rapid fire attacks displayed on the March 2 "The Dylan Ratigan Show."

Either host Dylan Ratigan was trying to play to MSNBC's rabid liberal audience or he really has it in for the Tea Party movement based on some exaggerated notion it is nothing but hate and fear mongers. In an interview with Mark Williams, a conservative talk radio host and sometimes spokesman for the Tea Party Express, Ratigan asked Williams what he was doing to separate his legitimate effort from radical fringe elements in American political culture.

  • The problem with Mark is that when asked "DO YOU ACCEPT RACISTS AND NAZI'S"? If he would have immediately replied "no", then Dylan wouldn't have gone on his rant.

Mark hemmed and hawed and did not immediately answer the question....THAT'S WHY DYLAN WENT OFF!!

  • @dmack360 Funny. This question has been asked of "ea party leaders multiple times and always the answer is a bunch of redirecting and general hemming and hawing. NOT ONE has come out and condemned white supremacists' presence at the rallies. NOT ONE public statement of "We don't want you. Stay out of our rallies."

Ratigan is great to point this out. Teabaggers will continue to insist they are not a racist organization while still being the darling of white supremacist groups in America.

  • @DerekScottBland Hahaaa!!! Nice one :) Dogging my definition of the right to free speech... when I never gave one! You're brilliant :)

Of course, you *could* quote my definition of free speech if you wanted to prove me wrong... right?

    Yeah.... thought not.

If you refer to my discussion on how that right pre-exists and is merely *protected* by the Constitution... sorry my friend, but I am 500% right. Find ONE scholar that disagrees. You have the entire "internets"! Go boy!

  • @RyderSpearmann You really don't know anything, do you? Go back to school and take a history class, I'm sure your instructor would find your definition of the right to free speech amusing. If all you're going to do is backpedal and obfuscate the issue when you're called on your ignorance, I have no more time for you.

  • @DerekScottBland You don't understand, do you? They *have* said "you're not welcome here, leave." Problem is, they don't always leave. So now what? Get the police to remove them? Yes, that can sometimes be done, but then the TP is getting "big government" involved.

You don't understand. The right to free speech doesn't come from the Constitution, it merely protects the pre-existing right to speech. I refer to the right explicitly, AS WELL AS the desire to support the Constitution. Nice try.

  • @RyderSpearmann No, Ratigan is not the idiot in this scenario. 1. Separate isn't enough. They need to flat-out say "you are not welcome here, leave." 2. There is no first amendment in this situation. You, like so many others, should be thankful you don't have to understand how your rights work in order to benefit from them. The first amendment simply means the government will not punish you for unpopular speech.

  • Ratigan is simply showing his ignorance. Use google images... search "Tea Party infiltrator".

You will see a massive stream of images where the Tea Party does two amazing things:

1 - They NON VIOLENTLY separate the people Ratigan speaks of while...

2 - They don't violate anyone's right to free speech... in other words, they protect and support the 1st amendment, and address Ratigan's concerns.

This means: Ratigan is an idiot.

  • @madams12f Does this video look like a different century to you?

    youtube.com/watch?v=neGbKHyGuHU

    How about this one?

    youtube.com/watch?v=0xBlTdsnOh8&feature=related

Talking points? You are certainly familiar with those, but you may be surprised to hear that they are wrong.

Republican campaigns actually depend more on individual donations, than on corporations.

As for the attacks on my screen name, it's just my favorite song.

  • @jcpbrighteyes BRIGHT?eyes....what century are u living in ?? Black Panthers?? many have either been killed or died off of old age. Weather Underground??? again wrong century....and those still alive are retired grandparents. Only 1 'party' that demands obedience to the daily talking points...the GOP/teaholes. funded by the filthy rich KOCH brothers et al. Democrats have always been considered a big tent party which was the popular majority when we had statesmen for politicians long ago.

  • @MetalDetroit How dang stupid a comment.....obviously you have no historical understanding of lefties in this country....Metal....because the LEFT was loaded with Jews....still has large numbers of Jews on the left....and within the Democratic party, still. The RIGHT only "supports" certain jews like the 500,000 racist settlers in West Bank Palestine who they believe will hasten the rapture, then see'em all fry. That is not 'support' it is theocratic manipulation. Killing is UNChristian.

  • It is people on the LEFT who hate Jews. It is people on the RIGHT who support Israel...
