@xracer824 Wow that's crazy, you're like exactly explaining what happened to me! I've had screws in there 8 months and they caught my AVN early then took the screws out and everything was fine.

Hi, I've got ?s.
1. Are you done healing?
2. On a scale of 1-5, 5 worst how did it feel as you broke your hip?
3. Could you stand up?
4. Could you walk?
Thank you in advance and I wish you a speedy recovery!

1. No. I still have another 3 or 4 months before full recovery. It took 6 weeks before I could put ANY weight on it. It is still much more comfortable to ride my bike than walk.
2. Scale of 1-5, 4.5 I guess.
3 and 4. I knew it was broken because I couldn't move it at all.
I landed, it hurt a lot and didn't stop hurting. That was my first clue. Then I couldn't move it at all, second clue. I did manage to remain calm, which I am proud of.

This sucks dude. You probably broke the femoral neck, in which case you've got two or three screws in there for 4-6 months. Watch out for AVN. Read up on it. If you catch it early, you might save your hip - can't see it in an x-ray - need to get an MRI. Don't let it slide - time is the enemy. I broke mine 2 years ago, everything looked good, then found AVN, had to go in for surgery #2 - something called a core decompression - read up on that, too. This is serious stuff.

Two or three screws for 4-6 months!?
WHAH HAHAHAHAHA!!!
I have a foot long piece of titanium screwed into the ball and five screws and wire holding my femer to that. It's in there for life. I keep meaning to ask for copies of the x-rays when I go to the doctor. I always forget by the time I leave. I will post the pictures of my break and the titanium when I get them.
I will ask my doctor what this stuff is you are warning me about.
Yes, this is serious stuff.

I am very effected by this video. I can't explain. Riding on the ice is super dangerous. I, too, broke a bone at 34. I thought I had it all figured out. I closest to death at that time than any other, because without our skeleton we are nothin, and all the bones work together. Damn man. Just a crack I hope. You'll be alright. I am beside myself. I'll try to bounce some healing power off the moon tonight to you to help you heal. I am so upset. My thoughts are with you man.

This is the most heart felt message I think I have ever gotten. This experience has changed me. This kind of thing really teaches you how fragile the body is. I have fallen so many times but it only takes that one time. I had gone out in the snow and ice on purpose many times before this and had a blast sliding around. I was tottally blind sided by the ice on the parking lot. That split second changed my life.
May sound funny, but I am glad you are here to see it. Thank you for being a friend.
