  • @horseman528

man, you are absolutely right! :)

  • LOL Those of you that still belive the war was about slavery and not states rights are simply stupid, the dates alone prove it!

  • @amacdonald27 Scotch-Irish*

  • I wish the civil war had never happened and I wish slavery had never happened. This is the world we live in. There will always be problems and tribulation in this world. Who was at fault for the civil war? We can point fingers back and forth until the end of time but the fact is that it is over and in the past. All we can do is learn from it and go on. Every day is a new day with new possibilites and hope. Bitterness will make you a prisoner. God bless you all.

  • @viowave well said, but there were other markets where cotton could be obtained, as you said, even in their own territories.

  • @farloo100 "could be fixed with competition" .... sure... Don't forget the Europa (England) bought a very large proportion off the coton from the southern states. England with its own plantages in its own colonies choose America - because it was cheap! A main reason why England also France never stoot up against the South (nor they publicly support the case). Then you must understand the fear of the abolisment of slavery ... that price could be what happend in current Zimbabwe.

  • you can here the scottish in this song
