Dorothy Collins sings the #1 song of the week, "Mr. Sandman" on Your Hit Parade televised on December 25, 1954.   • Tremendously talented. No matter what, she was there every week for many years as I grew up.

  • They created music videos of the songs each week using the staff singers and musicians. The problem was that if a song stay #1 for a long time coming up with a new skit each week got to be a problem;)

  • Dorothy Collins is a real genius! This is one of my favorite songs. But I had thought only the Chordettes recorded it. Dorothy again proves her musical talent

    with the recording of Mr. Sandman. I miss her and lament the lack of real singers who mesmerize the audience.

  • I just love this song. A big hit for the Chordettes.Dorothy sings it great. She could sing anything. We miss her. She was a great vocalist,actress,comedienne,an­d a nice lady.One of our great singers. On broadway in 71 she stole the show,and it was bravo all the way,it was magical....the great soundheim musical-Follies.Her rendition of the song-Losing My Mind-great-great....Saw her in summer stock in Sound Of Music-again great.beautiful.Her recordings are available-They have been reissued .
