It's weird, I'm American, and I swear that I've seen this back when I was a small small child... Weird.

I think those days will be back. I think they where heart felt because the programs where made by people, not companies, in sheds in their garden. My nine year old son is buisy making his Optimus Prime action figure do a mexican wave using free software at his computer club, I think that's the real future. You can't kill what's in peoples heart :)

@MrBWRobinson wise words mate i couldn't agree more...ooohhh the halcion days of long ago before greed and spitefullness..sadly never to return i think...I loved the mice the best they could have run the country better than mrs thatch...peace =)

Well, one reason is that children are less likely to have the concentration to handle stories in the way that Bagpuss tells them, they have the concentration fried out of their brains by fast-moving media in which they flick around. I suppose you would have to teach children to appreciate silence and slowness to get them interested in this.

So melancholy, so sweet, so exquisite. Oliver Postgate was such a romantic. RIP. I loved this show so much. The sound of childhood, the image of the 1970s.
And he never played them again...
