The Government insists Wi-Fi is safe, but a Panorama investigation shows that radio frequency radiation levels in some schools are up to three times the level found in the main beam of intensity from mobile phone masts.

There have been no studies on the health effects of Wi-Fi equipment, but thousands on mobile phones and masts.

The radiation Wi-Fi emits is similar to that from mobile phone masts. It is an unavoidable by-product of going wireless.

Entire cities have become what are known as wireless hotspots.

  • Nice test - only one problem....they test a tower from about 1000 meters without any phones, just the tower. Then they walk into the class and measure a dozen machines and access point. How about testing near a microwave! I think they'll notice the leakage is about 10X the power of that classroom, and if they'd had a cell phone they'd see the same 10X of the Wi-Fi system. Do you think they know these things and just want to do a scare piece or do you think this engineer is an idiot. Maybe BOTH

  • Anyone consider the RF power level of radio they've been exposed to since they were born? The power level is WAY HIGHER.

So, when are we going to pull down all those radio station towers?

  • This happens with every new technology.

  • The news today shows that wifi damages and kills sperm. Microwave ovens operate at the same frequency as a wifi router, 2.4ghz

  • I would not believe a single word that the BBC say, They are full of shit and always have been. Panorama is full of untrue info and they have had to pay a lot of money out in damages. they use licence fee payers money to pay for these fines.

  • @tigeren32 Allergic to microwave?! Not sure allergy fits the model but, it does appear to be cumlatitive, but then again, there is debate about it, and nobody can agree about the effects-how can they?

  • @mcwolfus No, microwave radiation exposure is cumulatitive - it add up as time goes by. At some time you become allergic to it - the same way perfume allergy works.

  • @sdarvell

they might be world renowned experts, not necessarily in a field that is actualy relevant to the topic at hand, but an expert at "something".

  • Why do world renowned experts claim wifi is dangerous? Well firstly you haven't established that they are in fact world renowned experts, and secondly there are always the idiots and crackpots in all groups. Simply because someone with a degree disagrees with other people with a degree doesn't constitute evidence that the lone person is correct.

  • @mcwolfus yes, but this is a scientific debate, trying to sort out the fact and the possible dangers of low power RF. This is nothing to do with how many US citizens hate their governments based on strange paranoid fantasy puedoscience. Facts based on proven science, from proven sources still apply in Europe, (if you know where that is), and we want to keep it that way, unsensational as it may be.

  • @mcwolfus because this is youtube, where there is a much larger audience, and since wifi is universal it does not only apply to the UK.
